Kid has Xbox stolen, police buy him a new one
by Simon init's easy to get down and disheartened about depressing world events.. it's important to remember that the good guys outnumber the bad guys, they just don't make the headlines as often.. so here's a nice story:.
on sunday, 11-year-old tontrevion campbell went to church with his mom.. at the same time, police say, burglars entered his home and broke one of the commandments.. as the memphis police department describes it on its facebook page: "the thief or thieves stole several of his mom's items, but they also stole the young man's xbox game system and every single game that this 11-year-old owned.".
there are quite a few adults who'd be upset.

CEDARS (Again) Is it really about religious beliefs?
by Listener injohn cedars has posted his latest blog "the trouble with apostates (and why it shouldn't put you off becoming one)".
i acknowledge that he is entitled to his opionin just as we are ours but i am disappointed in some of his comments.. at this stage i'll try to be objective about it.
he is defending his own position after all.. what bothers me most is his comments about athiests and christians which he seems to identify as being in conflict with each other.

Feeling rejected
by Esmeralda001 injust a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.
however, i'm in the process of becoming one.
in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.

Esmerelda, If you think that is unique you are mistaken. Once you get trapped by this bullshit religion you will become a pariah for your sense of style and your education will become a reason to show even more disdain. Take the hint and get OUT NOW! -

YMCA ? Are we allowed to go there or not?
by Quarterback inhalf of our congregation goes there to work out because of the good pool facilities and prices, and the other half think that it's wrong due to it's old charter.
but no one is enforcing the wrong or right of it.
i'd be interested in knowing how this is being applied worldwide.

My first post
by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

Remember, waking to the Truth is not like cutting off a limb, its like removing a huge cancerous growth! Welcome. Real people and real life will follow, stick with it. Its hard at first because you think all it lost. NO, all is gained, but it takes time. Bless you young sir. -

What makes people kill others over religion? The same thing that makes JW's let children die over blood doctrine.
by Wasanelder Once inmy inactive relative, (female) asked in exasperation, "what makes people kill others over religion?
" i responded, "the same thing that makes jw's let children die over the blood doctrine.
religious ignorance and fervor causing the death of others without any compunction?

My inactive relative, (female) asked in exasperation, "What makes people kill others over religion?" I responded, "The same thing that makes JW's let children die over the blood doctrine." Isn't it the same? Religious ignorance and fervor causing the death of others without any compunction? Have you seen this warped thinking in action? Its quite deadly and unreachable by reason or common sense. To me its the same, Islamic jihad and declining a blood transfusion to your child or spouse. Your thoughts? -

I'm a cynical, sarcastic and curmudgeonly old bastard most of the time.
by nicolaou inbut as i move into my early 50's i find i'm more and more comfortable in my thick, leathery hide.. please get it into your thick skull's that i don't insult or make snarky comments with the intent of hurting anyone's feelings.
that being said, if your precious feelings are hurt it's probably your fault for being a prissy, over sensitive drama queen who can't defend his argument.. i do actually love you all, it's just that most of the time you spineless pussies really get on my nerves!.
good god i feel better for that!
